Sow Bug
Sow bugs have an armadillo appearance and are very common throughout the Northwest. Most homes report sow bugs in moist basement areas at sump pits, washrooms, cold rooms, laundry areas and under sub floors. Sow bugs normally feed on decaying organic matter, do not breed quickly, may live as long as 3 years and are most active at night. They look very similar to Pill bugs at first glance. They have seven pairs of legs and antenna, which reach about half the length of their body. They are slate gray in color. Unlike the Pill bug the Sow bug can’t roll into a ball. |
